During Father's Day, I have shared with the world about memories of my Dad and the impact he have on my life. My Aunt Doreen have written to me and share with me her memories of my father both as a caring brother and a filial son. Below is what she wrote to me and we wish to share it with everyone :
" your dad was certainly quite a guy. He really pampered you and had a soft spot for you, though you are a girl and he is rather 'old fashioned' like my mum. Still, you were the jewel in his eye. You are also the only one whom he allows to be 'shouted' at, without getting upset or angry. He would just let you scream, shout and vent, and yet, still talk to you calmly, nicely and patiently. That is why he was always the 'mediator' at home between you and your mum.
He is also a very doting father. Allowing and 'helping' you 'murder' poor creatures for your own 'enjoyment'!! Good thing its not one of those endangered species.
And I remember him as a very 'protective' brother. He would get very upset if he knew any one of us was bullied and would want to help us get 'even' if he knew we were bulllied. He is also a very 'filial' son. I remember how he used to 'tong' overnight when my dad and my mum were hospitalised. Its the 'hao ren' who gets called up to be with the Lord first. I'm sure we all wished we could have more time with him, but we must learn to be 'contented' and to cherish our happy memories with him. He will live in all our hearts. "

Thanks A. Doreen for your words and allowing me to learn different sides of my Dad. You are right, he may not be with us now but memories of him will live with us forever.
