My Rotting Face !

For those of you who know about my passion for facial know how much I enjoy having them. When I was in Singapore, I practically have a facial every once or twice a month or however often I can swing by at the beauty salon. But since I'm here, those were dreams of a distance past.

And being as lazy as I am, a DIY facial is something which I put off day after day and soon it deteriorate from week after week. So now beside being tanned, my face is close to the surface of the moon ???!!

There just isn't so many facial salon in Ovideo and also being jobless now, facials are like a luxury for me. So with my constant bitching to my ex-colleague whom also happen to be my bitching "ka-ki" (Angie fm AA). The complains just seems getting more and more frustrating for me and perhaps for her as well which maybe the reason why she surprised me by airflown some of her favourite mask for me !!! (maybe that's why she sent me the facial mask, to shut me up ! Hahahah) But Boy, was I touched ! Yippieeeee... finally a glimps of light for my rotting face !!! Oh did I mention that she had sent them to me in an AA envelope ? Ahhh.... memories of good old days in AA when we had so much fun creating riots and chaos.

Angie had given me her reviews of the mask and I can't wait to try them. But now, they are sitting in the fridge, chillin till I can put it on. Believe me, it's a long way from Singapore and by the time I received them from the postman, they were warm.

Thanks Angie, for bringing me memories of AA and hopes of a better complexion and sharing with me your beauty secrets ! =) *kum siah*

My In-Laws

The fact that I am alone here in a foreign country, married into a typical american family with drastic difference in culture, upbringing and race, but despite all that I am blessed to be welcomed into my husband's family. They have shown me on various occassion their warm welcome and their acceptance of me as one into their family.

Like my Sister-in-Law, Sommer, she is the one whom I click with in this family. We can shop, enjoy a lunch together and recently discovered she make a good travel partner too. And I know that she looks out for my best interest as well and not back stabbing (like you know who hahaha). Recently for my Birthday, my FIL, his wife, Michelle (my FIL's step daughter), Sommer and Pete had a belated birthday celebration for me. To me it's special as it's the first birthday I had with Paul's family and we had a great time together.

Sommer touched me deeply as on our shopping trip last month, I saw this Pepper-Salt, Vinegar and Oil salad dressing set and fall in love with it instantly. But because of it's price tag, I've decided not to pursue this relationship and attempted to erase off the image off my mind. To my surprise, Sommer remembered this set and bought it for me as my birthday present ! I was speechless cause she remember this incident. To my new friend and sister - Sommer, THANK YOU ! =)

My FIL is a character and a force not to be reckon with and I have a love-hate relationship with him. I love the fact that he is so loveable, jovial, easy to talk to and oh yes, easy to tease as well. But I hate the fact that he like to tease me. However, that's definately part of him that make him so lovable. I am not too good with funerals and in this short period of time that I am in US, I have attended 2 funerals and that's not good news for me. When I see the family of the deceased, I can't help but weep and share their pain and lost cause personally I have been through the same. Because of this, my FIL like to tease me for my ability to crying at funerals. Oh well, I just have to laugh about it as well. Isn't it better to laugh with him than to have him laugh at me ???!! Regardless, he gave me a nice card with cash to buy gift of my choice and not forgetting the ultimate rub in my face - a packet of tissue for the "right" occassion, which I break out laughing when I saw that ! =)

Nevertheless, for those of you who worried about Scary FIL and Difficult Sister-in-Law, don't worry, there are still some nice ones out there. For me, I am lucky to have the super nice ones ... Oh yes, Envy me ! *lol*

My BFF !

I have been keeping this secret from Cecilia for a whole week and it drove me bonkers. Cause between her and me, I practically tell her everything and I hardly keep any secrets from her ! Now I have also solved the mystery to my sleepless night. All due to this secret that I have been bottling up inside me.

The Secret - I had to hide from Cecilia is the surprise that Tricia gave me. She had sent me a package that was hand delivered by the postman. Oh, the highlight of the secret was the present since Tricia had bought an identical gift for Cecilia (different colour scheme though). So I have to keep that to myself just so I don't spoilt Cecilia's surprise.

Tricia was very sweet and very successful with her plan, she sent a package to me all the way from Singapore with a very touching card 3 days before my birthday. I was speechless when I had the package in my hand as we have agreed that we will postpone my Birthday celebration till I return back to Singapore next year.

So the whole week from I received Tricia's present, I had to keep Cecilia in the dark about Tricia's surprise. I was close to explode each time I talk to Cecilia online, it was like a test for me. Thank Goodness I passed the test and managed to distract myself from bursting.

The girls had their first birthday celebration without me which is kind of strange for all of us and it was extremely sad for me for as long as I can remember, we have been celebrating our birthday together since Cecilia's Birthday is merely 2 days away from mine. But they still carried on our tradition of Birthday celebration - A great yummy buffet dinner. Oh, They took photos of the glorious food too.
I really miss them a whole lot cause they were my blood sisters, my best friends, my support pillar, my social life, my cheerleaders, my shopping consultants, my "comfort blankets", my "assurance voters" and so many more roles that they play in my life. I can't wait till I return and we can all gather again.

Regardless, check out the pictures of Tricia's present to me and my present to Cecilia. Oh ! how can we forget the yummy food !

P/S : Tricia, thanks again for the bag, I really really love it ! =)
PP/S: And Girls, thanks for being the World Best Blood Sisters anyone can ask for.

I am 31 !!!

It's official, I've turned 31 yrs old yesterday and I am in shock and denial. It seems like I was having my 21st Birthday Party Bash 2 days ago !!!

Since I am here in US, I thought it would be a quiet day but my friends have certainly lived up to their standards. To begin with, Cecilia rang me on 24th night at 11.20pm US time with intentions to count down the moment with me and be the first to wish me Happy Birthday. So we spend a good 20 mins on the phone before she need to leave for lunch with her bosses. Within 2 seconds, Tricia took over the baton and we were chatting over the phone with her boss just inches away... but she was the ultimate, she count down the moment with me when it strike 12am. Soon after Tricia hang up, Eunice rang...she is the classic, she practically went to her office's bathroom and hide in a cubical and rang me. So throughout the whole conversation, I heard echos and some missed signals but no, there was no toilet flushes or any funny sound effects. I really appreciate what all the girls had done for me. I can't missed out my other friends who wished me Happy Birthday via Instant Massenger from MSN on the same day and also the well wishes emails that I received !

Thanks folks for all your efforts and well wishes. I really appreciate everything and your attempts really warm up my heart. *big big hugs to all*

In the morning, Paul left my present for me - An Ice Cream maker !!! For some of you, who know about my dream of creating homemade ice cream and perhaps maybe bring glory to it like Ben and Jerry ???!!! With secret ingredients like splashes of rum, shots of vodka and bottles of beer even ?! Since Paul had brought me an Ice Cream recipe book as well, now I can be the mad scientist.

Later in the night, he bought me to PF Chang's China Bistro for chinese food and it is YUMMY ! Apparently this place have received high reviews.(BTW it was Sommer who suggest this place for us and the place was fantastic). (Cow, I know I've told you that I'll TRY to take pictures of the restaurant and the food but the place is totally crowded and I don't want to be mistaken as some crazy spy or a hillbilly tourist, sorry to disappoint you but I've took some photos of the exterior). I was shocked when there is this dish "Singapore Street Noodles" in the menu and being a Singaporean, I have to order it. To my surprise, Paul totally love the dish. The best part of my dinner is my FIL rang on Paul's mobile phone and sing me a Birthday Song. Honestly girls, how many of your FIL will call you and sing you a Birthday song ??? I am truely touched and was giggling and have this tiny little arrogance when Paul told me his Dad never even sing him a Birthday song before *lol*

I can't forget the Birthday present my MIL bought me - Vera Vang's Princess perfume. I am touched as she remembered I adore Vera Wang ! =) Oh, I can't wait for tomorrow's dinner too, when Paul's family are celebrating my "Post" Birthday with me.

Anyway it's my 31st Birthday and I still feel strange not having my best pals to celebrate my Birthday with me. But now, I have Paul and his loving family who are celebrating it with me and they accepting me as part of their family is one of the greatest gift. So throughout my 31st years in this planet, I realised that my biggest accomplishment and comfort is knowing that I have my friends - true friends who meant the world to me, my family's support and now I have another addition, Paul & his family.

My Girls !

It's a typical Tuesday morning, 10am US Time and I am lazing around watching a Taiwanese TV Series call "Why Why Love". (FYI, my blood sisters have been brain washing me to watch this series thought initially I detest it with a vengence). No offense but Taiwanese serial are super long winded for my preference. It's kind of like the soap drama here in US. But hey, beside watching it, I have to summarise, remember and write a report for them to prove that I am really watch it *lol*. Ok, I am beginning to enjoying it now and I find the show comical.

Anyway as I was saying, here I was watching my show and then the phone call rang and before I can even say "Hi", my insane girlfriends = Cecilia aka Cow, Tricia aka Doggie, Eunice aka Kitty and Kayden aka Ah Long (as in Loan Shark) started laughing, giggling, screaming, shouting and talking all at the same time.

Ahhhh..... the familiar scenes that I missed and the voices that I remembered. So there they are in Singapore at 10pm after enjoying their Birthday Celebration dinner (it so happen to be that Cecilia, Ah Long and Me are borned within days from each other) and decided to call me and wish me a Happy Birthday(it's 24th in Singapore time). They are so sweet and I can't remember when was the last time I laugh so hard. They totally brought out the insane and craziness in me. As usual, we were "fabricating" news about Ah Long whom I know enjoy us getting into our role of being CNN, BBC and CNBC reporters and they were sharing with me their near death experience of Kitty being the Driver from Hell. Hey Kitty, I am proud that you manage to scare the crap out of Cecilia *lol* as you know she is the most calm, cool and sane among us.

I really miss the dinner gatherings with them cause beside enjoying the delicious food in Singapore, we have a habit/hobby that we will have dinner in Point A and then drive to Point B for dessert and then hunt for Point C for a drink. Basically even if you're full, everyone are still determined to stuff more food. But I think the main reason is that we enjoy each other's company and want to spend more time with each other.....

So these are the friends whom I grow up with. Friends whom I can be as insane as I can be and not worried or fear of being judged cause friends don't judge and most importantly, they can be crazier than me *lol*

Girls, thanks for your phone call ! Suddendly I felt that I have been transported to days when we are in our twenties. You girls really brighten up my day and rock my world. I know that despite us being separated by the oceans but I am relief and glad that we are still as close as before. Cheers to our Friendship ! =)

Note : Tricia aka Doggie is first from left, Kayden aka Ah Long is in Blue T-shirt, Eunice aka Kitty is in Black T-Shirt and Cecilia aka Cow is in Yellow T-Shirt

My Trip to North Carolina

Hi Readers,

I apologise for taking so long to load and post the photos from my recent trip to Boone County, North Carolina. There is simply too many photos from Sommer's and my camera combine together. After sorting through my MIL's wedding photos and the agony of arranging them in order, I simply can't drag myself to go through the nightmare by sorting the photos of our trip. So here are the photos, it's not in sequence but it's definately all in here ... =)

But before that, let me share with you all a little about our trip. To begin with, just the thought of the 10 hrs drive from Florida to North Carolina is not a funny joke. But strangely enough, the insane 10 hours drive doesn't seem like a drag at all. All of us had so much fun together, Sommer and Pete definately brought a lot of fun and laughters for Paul and myself. We were chatting, gossiping, discussing political issues, laughing and joking during the entire trip. And out of a sudden, the 10 hrs drive seems like 2 hrs. Perhaps I am the passenger and not the driver thus it's a breeze for me but none of us even took a wink during our entire night trip. We were up keeping each other company, especially the drivers - Sommer and Paul who took turns speeding up to North Carolina.

The moment I have a glimps of the mountains, the scenic view simply took my breath away. Instantly I fall in love with the lush greeneries, the cows glazing at the grass, the vast empty land, the cool weather and the friendly people. During one of our exploration trip, in the arm pit of nowhere, middle of the mountains, my jaws dropped. We just walk right through the place where the fairies live, there was no one in sight, trees were everywhere and all the flowers are in full bloom. Even thought it was drizzling, it's simply breath taking and so wonderfully beautiful and romantic. So here we are, the four of us (Sommer, Pete, Paul & me) started exploring the mountains, catching our breath and taking in the amazing view all at the same time. Oh did I mention that I was at the mountain where the movie "COLD MOUNTAIN" by Nicole Kidman and Renee Zellweger and Jude Law was filmed, cool huh ! =)

During our time in Boone County, North Carolina, we also drove to this store which apparently had been there since the 1800s and boy was I amazed ! They have musicians who are playing instruments and singing country songs. The moment I stepped into the store I felt like I was transported back to the 1800s and my horse are parked out in the front. The stores are old but the products are new. I was shocked when I discovered they carry TIGER BALM product. Holy Cow ! I couldn't believe my eyes and I am not kidding either, a Singapore product right in the middle of the mountain and in this antique shop, so like a super excited tourist, I've took a picture of it too. And right at this point, even thought it's Tiger Balm, I am so damn proud to point that out to Paul and Sommer.

There are simply too many fun and special times to share with all of you. Right to the moment when Paul and me are sitting in the back seat chillin and Sommer was driving us all back to Florida. She look so adorable when she's driving and singing along with the songs from the CDs.

Regardless, I hope these pictures give you a glimps of the fun time we had and some of the best moment captured. This is definately one of the best trip Paul and myself have took in a long while. And we think it's all thanks to Sommer and Pete, they definately make the best travelling partners and they rock this trip !

My MIL's Wedding ....

After slogging and spending many frustrating hours sorting through all the wedding photos, I realised that I've took more than 100 photos. Alright, enough of my complain, back to the wedding.

We're in Boone County, North Carolina up in the mountains and it's a cool (about 20 degs cels), sunny and beautiful Saturday evening. Just the scenery in the mountains itself is so beautiful and breath taking. All of us are ready and pumped up for my MIL's wedding and everyone is dressed to kill. Did I mention that the men are in PINK ???!!!!

So here we are in the wedding chapel and suddendly I am assigned and knighted to be the Photographer of the Ceremony. Boy ! Did I hyperventilate when I heard of this mission and was super worried about my amateur photo taking skills. I was sweating big time and that I would be taking photos that are out of focus, missed some kodak moment shots or messed up the photos. (But they actually turned out preety alright ! =))

Alright, back to the wedding. Imagine, the chapel was filled with guest from both families, soft music of the song "Unforgetable" by Nat King Cole is playing in the background, romance is in the air and we're all happy and excited for the couple who would be getting married infront of God in a few mins. The Groom is standing along side with the Minister waiting for the arrival of the Bride. Then the Handsome Best Man and the Beautiful Bride of Honor walked into the room. Followed by the Happy Bride and her 2 sons (Casey & Paul) who are giving her away to the Man who is going to take care of their mother for the rest of her life. (Sweet huh)

Like any other wedding, the Minister started his speech and soon the couple read their vows to each other and exchange their rings. OK, if I wasn't so occupied and focus with the photo taking, I would be sobbing away when they exchanged their vows and ring. The entire ceremony is just so touching and beautiful and everything is perfect !

When the ceremony is over, we all gathered outside of the chapel to take some photos and make some crazy faces before heading off to the Dinner venue which Sommer had sourced. Seriously, she played a major part in planning for this wedding from sourcing for the dinner venue to finding a beautiful and delicious wedding cake in the mountains and hand made the wedding favours ! I really salute her, she is just so creative and resourceful, definately the best wedding planner anyone can ask for.

I've took some photos during the dinner as well. To sum it up, we all had tons of fun and laughters and this is definately a perfect wedding - small and private, beautiful and sweet.

From this wedding, I've gathered and learned that it's never too late to marry, as long as you found the right person to marry.

TO the single folks out there, your time will come.
TO those who are dating now, enjoy this moment,
TO the married folks, enjoy your married life and treasure each other.

I am Back ! =)

Hi Folks,

I am back and I am exhausted ! I know that I didn't contribute to the overnight driving (Sommer & Paul did! ) nor the wedding planning (Sommer did ! ) but somehow the Tired Bug bit me in my buttocks and not forgetting the 2 loads of laundry that is waiting for me ?!

Despite our short 4 days trip, these 4 days were definately well spent. Both Me and Paul had so much fun and we think it's all thanks to our roadtrip partners - Pete & Sommer. Thanks guys for the great laughters and super fun time. Boy ! Did we have a blast together and acting silly ! =)

I am currently in the mist of consolidating, sorting and arranging all the wedding pictures and our "exploration" pictures in order. So please bare with me and shower me with a little patience and understanding. I hope it wouldn't take long but there is just so many pictures from both Sommer's and my camera. All I can tell you folks is that the pictures are definately worth the wait.

Regardless, I hope everyone stayed save and happy during the time I was away.

Meanwhile I will just show you guys 1 pic of the pic we took in North Carolina.

Gone for Wedding not Fishing ! =)

Dear Readers,

After weeks of waiting, it's finally the day I have been waiting for !!!!
Our trip to Boone County, North Carolina for my MIL's wedding.

So I have loaded the last load of laundry and it's spinning in the dryer. When it's done I need to pack my bag (not bags). And when Paul return home, I would be his assistant and help him gather his stuffs ! Like his nutritionist, I have also prepared snacks like cheeries, plums and green apples for him. Hopefully these will be enough for him to munch and keep him awake during the over night drive up to the mountains. Yes girls, we're going to the mountain and it's my first trip to the mountains. Now I can rightfully be a "Mountain Tortise" *lol*

Yes, yes, I will definately bring my camera with me and sink into this amateur photographer + reporter role and take snap tons of pics and take down notes so I can post it up and share them with you readers when I return. Oh yes, I promise (try/attempt/ my ultimate best effort) to take the classic shot of Paul in Pink as well.

I will be gone from 13th - 16th July (Fri - Mon). During this period, I will be busy taking pictures, gathering inspirations for my blog and also enjoying myself ! *lol* Thus there will never be a free moment so don't envy me. If you miss me, just remember that I will be missing you girls as well.....

So folks, Stay Save and even more importantly, Stay Happy !

P/S : Chris Yap, if you are reading this - Remember I am so proud of you. Remember the saying "It's better to love than to never experience love before !"

6th Month Mark !

It's 11th of July today and we have officially hit our 6th month mark. Regardless of what the others say, to me it's a big deal. I still can't believe that I am married and living with a man for 6 mths and I have been in the US for about 7+ months. Oh Yes, 7 long months without my close blood sisters, my family and my friends. During this 6 months of marriage, there are lots of ups and downs, fun and laughters, sorrow and tears and isn't this what a marriage is all about ?!

Today Paul and me went to the US Homeland Security for my Permanent Residency interview. For the past month, we were all geared up for the interview today and anticipate that it will take hours but it only took us 30 mins and we were out of the place in no time. As usual, they required more documents from us. So there will be more submission and hopefully we can get an update from them ASAP. Is there any other way to prove to them that I am here cause I have married Paul and I am marrying him cause we want to spend the rest of our lives together and we are happy together ? *sigh* Why would I want to leave my family, blood sisters, friends and all the fun in Singapore and be here in US all alone ??? The Answer - Cause I Love Him !!! *sigh x 100*

For our celebration, we went to this American Pizza place which everyone have been raving about. From now onwards, PLEASE DO NOT give me reviews on how great and fantastic a place is. As I have this tendency to build up my expectation and then get super disappointed when I visit the place.

It's like a double whammy for me today 1) The Immigration Interview is going to need more documents from us which I have them sorted out and Paul will be sending them via Express Mail tomorrow (which means more delay) and 2) Our Celebration Dinner sucks...

Anyway I am holding my chin up for tomorrow. OH YES !!! We're departing Oviedo and charging to Boone County, North Carolina tomorrow evening. I've prepared some healthy snacks like Cherries, Plums and Green Apples for Paul to munch on during our way up there... need to keep our driver happy =)

One of the most important things in my life ... My Friends

My Friends are a major part of my life and they still are. We grow up together from being teenagers to our twenties and now when we are in our early thirties. We share the fun, the joy, the laughters and they are truly my comrade and "partners-in-crime". We're always adventurous or rather crazy and enjoy creating "sabo" games.

"Sabo" game is something which some of us with sick mind have created to push ourselves to the extreme ultimate limits and that consist of eating gross, nasty and disgusting stuffs. And the survival rule is, if you are sporting and a willing victim, it makes the torture so much easier. If you struggle, it's alright, cause those nasty stuffs will still be forced and given to you *lol*

In our gang, there is always a "Sabo" Queen and "Victims" or at times "Sabo Queens" and 1 "Victim". Regardless the equation, we always have fun and tons of great laughters and now they are just amazing memories. I remember birthdays are one of the worst hit cause there will be tons of food which you have to eat and they are food with all the worst combinations you can ever think of ! Oh yes, we have some incredible creative genius in our gang. At times the smell itself will disgust you before you even eat it. Oh, forget about throwing up, we are so organised that there are also volunteers aka "Guards" who will ensure that you don't throw it up nor is anywhere close to the bathroom.

Our best times are stay over either at a friend's place or a hotel room (for our birthdays). I recalled during one of Cecilia and my birthday (we happen to be born 2 days apart) so we had our birthday celebration at a hotel room and it was insane (just like Girls Gone Wild without the triple X version *lol*). We had switched off the lights in the room and play hide and seek. Did I mention that there is about 10 of us in a tiny room ???!!

During stay overs, you can forget about a normal bedtime. There is nothing normal when all of us are together. You are only allowed to sleep when the "Jumping Queen" decide to call the night off or when she have burnt all her energy (oh yes, "Jumping Queen" you know who you are *lol*). By the time she have burnt off her energy, the rest of us would be half dead. Or if anyone lie on the bed and attempt to recuperate their energy, you can FORGET ABOUT IT ! Our "Jumping Queen" will spring into action and start jumping on the bed thus there's no way you can regain your momentum or even attempt catch your breath. In other words, you can simply forget about a moment of peace or rest provided that our "Jumping Queen" is ready to K.O (Knock Out).

There is simply too many fun memories that I can think off and way too much to share. For you girls who are reading this, take a moment and recall about the fun times we share. Even thought now we are all apart in different parts of the globe, some married, some happy singletons and 1 have even progressed to be a mother. But I am positive that when we think of our memories together, there is always a smile on our face.... and all of us would agree that those were the most amazing, incredible and the funnest time of our life.

My precious dear friends, we may have share a past and created memories together but I am certain that we will have a beautiful tomorrow together as well... And I can't wait for our reunion which I am positive that it's going to be a blast !

The Hunt is OVER ! :/

So, my MIL's wedding is 5 days away and Paul have not found his pink shirt and I've also failed at hunting for my desired "Red-Gold" necklace. We spent the whole saturday hunting for both items and both of us was pumped up and in high spirits when we headed for the stores but returned disappointed and defeated.

But it's not all bad cause I have my semi-precious gems which all of you voters preferred and I personally adore, so it's still a win for me. And Paul was like "Why are you hunting high and low when this is so beautiful ?!" I kind of see it that my semi-precious gem is like a wedding accessory since I wore it during my ROM and now to my MIL's wedding.

You know how sometimes some people have all the luck ? When we were down on our luck on our fruitless trip hunting for Paul's pink shirt, Sommer (Paul's sister) actually went and bought him a pink shirt! It's such a sigh of relief for me that she found him his shirt. Knowing her good taste, I have nothing to worry if he will match with my MIL's wedding theme or stand out like a sore thumb, or if the colour of the pink matched. Thank Goodness for Sommer or we would be lost and running around like a headless chicken *lol*

Yes Folks, 3 more days to go and we'll be departing on Thursday evening...and heading for the wedding.
Oh Boy, in 2 more days and it's Paul and my 6 mth wedding anniversary. I know you guys think it's just 6 mths and a monthly anniversay thus nothing major. But for me it's big ! Infact every month when I make it to the 11th, it's like "WOW ! Another month and we've made it!".

Tricia & Cecilia, I have to say this cause this is how I feel about both of you. SO I may be super long winded but I don't care cause this is exactly how I feel : -
Thanks for sharing my "up" days with me and thanks for being my support pillar and holding me up during my "down" days. Most importantly, being the World's Best Blood Sister any girl can ask for. Both of you have listen to me when I need a listening ear and drilling sense into me when I need to focus and when I am lost. Most importantly, your undying love and support which both of you gave so willingly and selflessly. Having both of you in my life is - PRICELESS !

The Hunt...

It's the weekend here and it marks the beginning of the hunt for my "Red-Gold" accessory as proposed by Angie, my newly knight VOGUE Fashion editor (also my ex-colleague from AAS). Believe me, it's like LOVE at FIRST SIGHT when I lay eyes on the picture of necklace and now I'm hooked by what Angie had proposed...

Like a crazy woman, I was running in and out of the various stores in the Mall and my result is fruitless *sigh*. Nonetheless, I have another place to go hunt for it before I truly admit defeat...

Oh, I must thank my readers *lol* for their participation in my voting campaign and offering me great suggetions and opinion. Amazingly everyone of you vote for the Semi-Precious Gem which I love deeply as well and most importantly, it came with great sentimental value.

So I am not too upset if I really can't find the "Red-Gold" necklace, cause I know I have another beautiful set for me....

Oh yes, it's 5 more days before our trip to North Carolina and I am super excited... YIPPIEEEE !!! I can't wait to start our roadtrip. I think the most exciting part is our traveling partners (Pete & Sommer) and also the wedding... Of course, the other perk is witnessing Paul dressed in Baby Pink *lol* Since my MIL's wedding theme is pink. Oh Yes, am going to take loads of pics of him in the Baby Pink shirt which he claimed he have never wear pink in his entire life. Guess what, everything is about to change and I will be sure to tease him about it, A LOT!

4th July !

Yesterday was 4th July aka American's Independence Day aka their National Day.

Definately the first 4th July celebration for me. Unlikes us, they have a lot going. We were invited by my FIL to his place for a 4th July party and Boy ! It was a great party.

We arrived at his place at 2pm and had BBQ, then out to the lake for jet ski and chill. Thank god, it was kind of overcast and the sun was hidding under those clouds thus I didn't risk another incident of sunburnt or getting from tanned to dark. By the time we returned back home, it's 11pm and we are totally exhaused.

The most amazing part of the party was the fireworks that was launched from the neighbour's backyard. It's really spectular, just imagine raising your head and you can see it blowing up in colourful colours and various designs. It's so beautiful, simply beyond description. In the mist of me going "WOW" and "AHHHH" over the fireworks, Paul took various pics of the fireworks for me to post it and share with the rest of you (isn't he sweet ?) . With the constant request from you girls, I've took pics of my FIL's house and it's surrounding for your reference ??!! *lol* Well, at least you guys know where I go to when I say I am off to my FIL's place. I apologise that I didn't take more pics, was busy having fun.

In the mist of this great day, my greatest achievement is overcoming my fear of Dogs. Sommer & Pete's Son - Cooter is just the cutest dog ever ! Hey, he's also the first dog I've ever pet. I've told Paul that I am seriously considering of having a pet dog myself - Provided it's as well behaved and cute like Cooter ! I have never saw such a well behaved dog in my life, I must salute Pete and Sommer for their training. Recently they have been watching this TV series call "Dog Whisperer" which apparently give hints, tips and instructions in raising and training dog. According to them, they noticed results and improvement from Cooter. For those of you who's dog is still wild and behaving badly, watch that show !!!! Oh BTW, I will not pet another dog unless it had been "Dog Whisperised" *lol*

Advertising ???

I am always excited when you folks write something on my Comments column. Cast your Sacred Vote NOW ! =)

Alright! I've accomplished the mission of finding the perfect dress for my MIL's wedding. Being a female, the whole outfit is never complete until we have the right shoes, right bag and the perfect accessories (Oh yeah ! It's like a whole nine yard just to get ready for an event). Strangely an accessory will either brighten and bring out the whole outfit or not destroy the whole look.

Luckily for me, I have got my shoes and bag which I think, kind of match (What do you girls think ?) But as usual, I am in a dilemma now...THE ACCESSORIES !!!

I have 2 set of accessories which I can't decide on. The 1st is a Black Beads set and the 2nd is a Semi-Precious Gem (A ROM gift from my Aunt- Dr Lee as a gift for my ROM).

Well, since it's for my MIL's wedding, I kinda want to have a sophicated and classic image but same time I want to be "happening". I feel so confuse and trappp + lostttt.

Since Paul is not much of a fashion consultant nor does he have any clue on what is the perfect match... thus now I have to seek you girls' opinion.
This is your chance now... cast in your sacred vote.
Let me know which accessories you prefer and think would be the best match ! =)

P/S : I apologise that I have not created a SMS voting service i.e American Idol kind.
So leave me your choice and opinion in the Comment section and I will compile the votes *lol*

My Conquest

It's a typical hot, steamy sunday and outside the thunderstorm is brewing and ready to launch it's first thunder in a few hours time. Which doesn't bother me a bit since it's our day of R & R. We definately deserved it after spending abt 7 hrs shopping the whole of Saturday afternoon. Poor Paul, he's definately not used to my shopping style but he have to grit his teeth and live with it and pretend to be excited and happy about it since my shopping "ka-kis" are half a globe away and snoring happily.

I remember how me and my shopping buddies will spend 6-7hrs just cruising Orchard Road for Best Buys, Must Buys and Good Bargain. Something Paul will never understand nor can relate to. The Male's theory or rather his concept is to go in to the store, buy and leave in record time. Sometimes he doesn't even try on the shirt or pants !

Oh well, the mission yesterday was to get me a dress for my MIL's wedding. We've just received bad news that Paul's older brother and his wife would be joining us in North Carolina for the wedding as well *sigh*. We are almost positive that his wife will make this event all about her which is kind of sickening but then I hope there's no drama coming from her. In the meantime, I've promised myself that I will hide my devil slaying sword from her provided she doesn't provoke me...

Anyway back to my shopping trip, I am glad that I managed to find the dress. Something simple (black and white poka-dot), presentable and the highlight of the dress is it's price tag - only USD16.99 !!!! Seriously, I've never bought a dress that economical to my wallet so I can't let it slip off my grip. In an instant, I can remotely hear Tricia's voice flashing in my head, screaming "BEST BUY". So that dress is in my wardrobe now...

So the whole of yesterday we bought :-

1) 1 Dress for me
2) 2 Nail polish for me
3) 5 Pajamas for me (5 pairs of white V-Neck T-shirts- super comfy, it comes in a pack of 5)
4) 2 Satin Pajamas singlets for me
5) 5 pairs of boxers for Paul
6) 1 Victoria Secrets' toiletries bag

Damn, I so miss those days when I shop with my shopping "ka-ki". But when I am here, I have to make do with Paul as my shopping buddy. Well, at least he is the Driver + Porter + Banker. The only thing I have to do with him is to convince him that walking 7 hrs is not dreadful shopping but also a kind of work out.
