Mission Impossible ???

Remember the song "Can't get you out of my head" by Kylie Minogue ? Well, I am having this problem now, there is this image that is trapped in my head for the past 2 weeks and I can't get it out of my head no matter how hard I tried.

Ever since my BFFs announced their upcoming vacation(tentative) to Bangkok, Thailand, SHOPPINGGGGGGG sprang into my head like a natural reaction that most females would. Next came the regret that I can't joined them and the envy that I wished I was going too. I have been to Bangkok a couple of times, infact Paul and myself have even went there in Sept 06. Somehow when the 3 of us are together, it is always "fun-er", "insane-er", "crazy-er" and "wild-er".

Our last trip to Bangkok was most memorable. I remembered beside bringing along my sleeping bag (Cecilia won a paid for vacation including a 5 star hotel stay in a lucky draw, thus me and Tricia tagged along and bunked in armed with our own sleeping bag). But right before I boarded the plane, instead of feeling all excited, hyper and ready to tear Bangkok up, I was feeling the total opposite - a fever brewed in me along with a sore throat and flu came right after. Thus the whole time when I was in Bangkok beside having the company of my shopping partner/fashion consultant and my finance manager - Tricia, sickness haunted me night and day as well. As Cecilia was there a few days eariler than us so most of the time it's me and Tricia fending for our dear life in the strange city. Strangly we thought after hanging out with us most of her life, Cecilia would adopt our hobby but sadly she never did catch our passion for shopping and maybe never will ... yes, she's represent the minority of female who doesn't shop or enjoy shopping.

Half the time when I was there, I was battling with the intense heat and the remaining of my energy was devoted entirely to sustain my shopping activity. I was also trying very hard to gather all my energy and save my last breath to shop untill I really drop. I even joked with Tricia that if I really faint, call the ambulance but most importantly - remember to grab all the "trophies" we have conqured.

The sickness is a blessing in disguise and a self discovery/exploration awaking. I learned that I can conqure and block out my pain when I am shopping *lol*. I realised that I can be cranky and snappy even when I am having my retail therapy. I appreciate my BFF even more cause like the saying "in sickness and in health" and she had definately been there the whole time and super accomodating to me as well. Even when I have no appetite to eat, she was starving herself as well. Despite physically down, I still managed to return back home with 2 bags filled of goodies and trophies.

Since I know of their upcoming trip which I am praying very hard that it will come true cause they surely deserve hell of a good time and definately some breathing space away from husband and work *lol*. But this time I've given them a mission - to hunt down a bag that I am fixated on. I hope both girls will track it down for me, since I am no longer part of the "shopping trio". Impressively this bag have a price tag at USD799. But I have absolute confidence that my BFFs have the ability to hunt down a "pirated" version for me. Did I mentioned that both of them have this inborn bargaining talent that I don't even dare to challenge or question !!!

Now, I just have to pray really really hard that they get to go on their vacation and hunt down my bag !!!! =)

Dearie

This current posting leaves me with a lot a lot of good & wonderful memories & how I wished time will turn back & stop right at that point. For a moment, my brain was flooded with our days in BKK despite the fact it happened more than 2 years ago. I SWEAR this is the best trip I had ever had so far!!

Despite the freaking hot weather & the flu virus in you, I am superb impressed by your perseverance & determination to walk from hotel to MRT (which is a good 15 minutes walk by foot on a fast pace),in dominating MBK & other malls without any complaint & yet returned to the hotel with bags of achievement.

You are in fact the BEST EVER SHOPPING COMPANION anyone will ask for.

Nevertheless, we will try to achieve & fulfil your wish of getting that bag this forthcoming BKK trip.

Lup
BFF

* On a side note, thanks SIFU for accomodating us in her hotel suite. Without this FREE ACCOMODATION, we would not have had this wonderful ever experience.

Dear BFF,

Indeed, that trip was by far the best I ever had as well and I don't think I can ever forget it ever. It's so fresh in my memory, it's as if we were there last month. It was indeed a self challenge and I am glad that I didn't disappoint you despite my sickness.

Now that you mentioned the walk from the hotel to the train station. I am amazed that I survived it, I think the whole time I was having an out of body experience which is why I am able to drag myself to the destination back and forth fighting with ... the unforgiving heat, the polluted air and the uneven concrete walkway filled with pot holes. I think it's the motivation of heading towards the fasinating/temping mall and the luring of the comfy hotel room that enable me to make the journey and conqure all challenges/difficulities.

Regardless, the trip, the companion and everything is simply perfect and splendid... at least we all agree that it's the best vacation and the best bonding session we had by far....

Hey, "In sickness and in health" I think we conqure and experienced that part, now I am certain that we are able to grow old together now like some bitching and miserable old woman hahahaha

P/S : Yes, thanks to SIFU Yap for her generous offer on sharing with us her room and imparting us her valuable statement of "I'm God Damn Tired !" *lol*

Such fond memories.... *sigh* I so wish I can tag along with u both for yr coming trip *sigh* Since I'm not there physically but my spirit is with you girls *grin* HAVE LOTS OF FUN and eat LOADS of food on my behalf !!!!! =) Oh oh and make sure you fullfill the mission I've given you *lol*

Oh oh, BFF, Do you remember how insane we were ? At night after a long day of shopping, we would soak in the hotel's pool/hot tub on the 33rd floor, admiring the stars, the scenery and also the fierce strong winds ???!!! And how we would wait for the wind to die down before we jump out of the pool and wrap ourselves in towels *lol* I am glad that I didn't die then... it seems like a suicide attempt now when I recall it.

YES YES YES the swimming pool experience on the 11th floor when we laughed & laughed & waiting for the wind to die down...& we quickly run to grab our towels wrapped ourselves up & dashed into the building.

Not forgetting the bargaining experience with one charming tuk tuk guy & we managed to reach the hotel with handful loads of goodies & yet paid only $20 baht for the "flying tuk tuk" experiences like those you see in James Bond movies.

MEMORIES......
